Kevin Threlfall | Marsden, West Yorkshire
Using mixed media, a palette knife, and the Pennines as inspiration, Kevin creates atmospheric paintings that explore colour and texture to bring the landscape alive. Painting in an expressive and intuitive way, he tries to capture experiences that are fleeting and that dissolve into the next; landscapes held together by rhyming connections of shape, line and colour.
Kevin studied at Batley School of Art before gaining a Fine Art degree from Huddersfield University. He went on to form an art collective to stage exhibitions at Huddersfield Railway Station for 3 years, whilst also regularly exhibiting across the region, including The Lowry and The People’s History Museum in Manchester. Kevin has been commissioned by Creative Scene in Dewsbury, Huddersfield Art Gallery, and was Artist In Residence at Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield. He currently paints from his studio at Globe Arts in Slaithwaite, nestled in the Colne Valley.
