Olivia Hemingway is a photographic artist working between London and her home town of Huddersfield. She specialises in portraiture and explores the relationship between people and animals in much of her work. Hemingway’s photography often has a strong narrative and focus on people's lives in everyday surroundings such as cafes or in their homes.
Her portfolio includes work for the BBC, Aardman Animation, The National Portrait Gallery, Tate Galleries, Leeds Art Gallery, Warner Bros, The UN, The Imperial War Museum and portraits of Quentin Blake, Paul Kaye,
Flight of the Conchords, Dizzee Rascal, Massive Attack, Lena Headey,
Sir Patrick Stewart and Jodie Whittaker.
Olivia Hemingway has exhibited work at The Barbican, The Nottingham Playhouse and The Spitz Gallery as well as having recent shows at The Huddersfield Art Gallery and Leeds City Museum.
She is also showing work from 5thMarch – 3rdNovember 2019 as part of an exhibition about Yorkshire at the National Trust galleries in York: Beningbrough Hall Gallery and Gardens.
