Christine Cheseldine | West Yorkshire
Christine is a painter based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. She employs abstraction and symbolism to create her compositions, which she hopes draw the viewer into their own personal, spiritual world.
In her work, Christine explores the contrast between light and dark, in order to ignite mood and emotion. Christine was brought up as a Roman Catholic and looks to local churches and cathedrals for inspiration. She is particularly interested in how places of worship create and atmosphere for reflection, meditation and solace. A recent visit to 12th century temples in Cambodia has provided Christine with new inspiration for her painting.
Christine graduated from Leeds Arts University in 2017 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art.
